HSTU is one of the largest science and technology universities in the northern part of the country. It is developing the young generation with modern knowledge and skills through a combination of education, research and innovation. There are opportunities to study in various faculties including Agriculture, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Education, Fisheries, Veterinary, Social Sciences. Applications can be applied online from 09/01/2026 to 06/02/2026. Entrance Examination Fee: 1000/-(One Thousand Taka) for each unit and an additional 200/-(Two Hundred Taka) for the Architecture Department. Application fee should be paid through mobile banking service ‘Nagad’.
Admission Eligibility
Students who have passed the Higher Secondary/equivalent examinations of 2023 and 2024 can apply subject to fulfilling the conditions. Students who have passed the Higher Secondary/equivalent examinations before the 2021 batch are not eligible to apply. In the case of ‘A’ and ‘Y’ units, the candidate must have passed the SSC/equivalent and H-SC/equivalent examinations from any Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board/Madrasa Education Board/Technical Education Board of Bangladesh in the grade system and scale with a total GPA of 8.0 with at least GPA 3.5 in each. In the case of the Faculty of Agriculture, Fisheries and Veterinary and Animal Science, a minimum ” grade in the fourth subject is required.
In the case of ”O” unit, the candidate must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in each of the SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations in the grade system from any Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board/Madrasa Education Board/Technical Education Board in Bangladesh and a total GPA of 6.5 with an A-A grade. An equivalent grade must be obtained from an equivalent examination from a foreign education board. And for those who have passed the ”A” level, the candidate must have at least a 4” grade in five subjects at the ”O” level and at least a ”’ grade in each of three subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/Agricultural Science at the ”A” level

Number of seats for quota admission
In addition to the total seats, 5% will be reserved for children of freedom fighters, 1% for ethnic minorities, 2 for people with special needs, 1% for children of teachers, officers and employees working at this university, a total of 5 seats will be reserved only from among the students who have passed the SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations from BKSP, and a total of 80 seats will be reserved for foreign students, as per government guidelines.
Rules for applying online
Online: Go to the website of Haji Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University (https://hstu.ac.bd/admission/index) and fill out the online application form.
After the payment is completed, an SMS will be sent to the mobile phone from which the money was sent, which will contain the Transaction ID. This Transaction ID must be saved; because if there is any problem in making the payment, you must contact admission@hstu.ac.bd mentioning the Transaction ID to resolve it. hstu admission circular
Admit Card Download Rules of conduct
- a) Applicants can apply online from 13/03/2026 until the commencement of the examination on the university website (https://ac.bd/admission/index) can download their respective admit cards from. Before downloading the admit card, the applicant must upload a softcopy of a passport size color photograph (JPEG Format, file size within 50 kilobytes). Two (02) copies of the recently taken passport size photograph must be brought with them on the day of the examination.
- b) The admit card should be downloaded and printed on 44 size offset paper. The applicant should sign on the Student Signature in front of the invigilator during the admission test. No applicant will be allowed to participate in the admission test without the admit card.
Admission test related information

- Question Paper: The question paper will be prepared in Bengali. However, if the candidate wants to take the exam in English, he/she will have to mention it in the specific space on the application form, which will be visible to the applicant while filling the online admission test application form.
Test method
The admission test will be conducted in multiple choice (MCQ) format. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The circle designated for special quota on the answer sheet must be filled.
Admission test scores and evaluation
Candidates will be selected on the basis of merit score out of 150 marks (200 marks for Bachelor of Architecture only). Out of which, 100 marks (MCQ) in the admission test and 40% and 60% 50 marks (total 150 marks) will be given as per the grades obtained in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations (including fourth subject). For Bachelor of Architecture, the merit score will be given on the basis of total 200 marks including additional 50 marks in free hand drawing. It is to be noted that at least 15 marks should be obtained as a passing mark in the drawing test.

Special instructions for candidates
- It is completely prohibited to enter the entrance exam hall with all types of electronic devices (such as watches, calculators, mobile phones, etc.).
- A minimum of 30 marks must be obtained in the exam for admission to all types of units and all types of quotas.
- Candidates who have passed the admission test must fill the Choice Form for various subjects of various faculties online before admission. Otherwise, they will be considered ineligible for admission.
- In the case of 13 units, 60% of the total seats will be reserved for students from Commerce and 40% from Science/Humanities departments, and in the case of ‘Cha’ units, 60% of the total seats will be reserved for Humanities and 40% from Science/Commerce departments.
- Admission test results and other admission-related information are available on the university’s notice board and website (https://hstu.ac.bd/admission/index) will be published in due course. Information can also be accessed using mobile phones.
- If any information regarding the admission test application is proven to be false, incorrect, or incomplete, the application will be immediately canceled.
