Admission process for MBBS courses for the academic year 2025-2026 has started in various government and private medical colleges of Bangladesh! Applications are being invited online (http://dgme.teletalk.com.bd) in the prescribed format as per the ‘Student Admission Policy 2025 for MBBS and BDS Courses in Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges/Units’ formulated by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BM&DC):
MBBS Admission Application Eligibility
The applicant must be a citizen of Bangladesh. Candidates wishing to appear for the admission test in the academic year 2025-2026 must have passed the HSC/’A’ Level/equivalent examination in 2024 or 2025. Students who have passed the SSC/’O’ Level/equivalent examination before 2022 will not be considered eligible to apply. The candidate must have passed the Science section in the SSC/’O’ Level/equivalent examination and must have Biology, Physics and Chemistry in the Science section in the HSC/’A’ Level/equivalent examination.
MBBS Admission Test GPA
The total GPA in both SSC/ ‘O’ Level/equivalent and HSC/ ‘A’ Level/equivalent examinations should be at least 9.00. In the case of non-tribal candidates from tribal and hill districts, the total GPA in both SSC/ ‘O’ Level/equivalent and HSC/ ‘A’ Level/equivalent examinations should be at least 8.00. However, if the GPA in any single examination is less than 3.50, the application will not be considered eligible. For all, if the minimum grade point in Biology in HSC/ ‘A’ Level/equivalent examination is not 4.0, the application will not be considered eligible.
MBBS Admission Test Syllabus
The written admission test will be held as per the HSC exam syllabus. In the written admission test, each of the 100 questions will be worth 1 (one) mark, making the total marks 100 (one hundred). Subject-wise mark distribution: Biology 30; Chemistry 25; Physics 20; English 15; General Knowledge (Bangladesh and International Affairs) 10. The duration of the test is 01 (one) hour. 01 (one) mark will be given for each correct answer in the written test. If more than one answer is given to a question, the answer will be considered incorrect. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Those who score less than 40 (forty) marks in the written test will be considered unsuccessful for admission in the country and admission to MBBS/equivalent courses abroad. The results of the successful candidates in the written test will be published along with the merit list.
MBBS Admission Test Score Evaluation
The merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the written admission test and the sum of the marks obtained based on the GPA of the SSC/’O’ Level/equivalent and HSC/’A’ Level/equivalent examinations as per the procedure mentioned in Article 07. The GPA obtained in the SSC/’O’ Level/equivalent and HSC/’A’ Level/equivalent examinations will be determined as a total of 100 (one hundred) marks and evaluated as follows:
- 10 times the GPA obtained in SSC/’O’ Level/equivalent examination = 50 marks (maximum)
- 10 times the GPA obtained in HSC/’A’ Level/equivalent examination = 50 marks (maximum)
In the case of candidates who passed the HSC/’A’ Level/equivalent examination in the previous year (2025), 03 (three) marks will be deducted from the total marks obtained, and in the case of students admitted to Government Medical College/Dental College/Medical College Dental Unit in the previous year (2025-2026 academic year), 06 (six) marks will be deducted from the total marks to determine the position in the merit list.

MBBS Admission Test Fee
Admission test fee of 1000/- (one thousand) Taka should be submitted only through prepaid Teletalk. Bangladeshi citizens who have passed ‘O’ Level/equivalent and ‘A’ Level/equivalent examinations can apply online after converting their mark sheets to the GPA prevailing in Bangladesh and collecting the Equivalence Certificate. In that case, they should apply along with a bank draft/pay order of 2000/- (two thousand) Taka to the Director, Medical Education, Directorate of Health Education, Mohakhali, Dhaka and collect the Equivalence Certificate and get an ID number. While collecting the said certificate, they should bring the original certificate, mark sheet and certificates of ‘O’ Level/equivalent and ‘A’ Level/equivalent examinations and copies attested by the issuing authority. The place for submitting the application form is Room No. 204, Medical Education Branch, Directorate of Health Education (2nd floor, old building of Directorate of Health, Mohakhali, Dhaka). The last date for submitting applications for Equivalence Certificate is 15/12/2024 AD.
Passed SSC and HSC exams from abroad
Bangladeshi citizens who have passed SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations from abroad must have their mark sheets attested by the Embassy/High Commission of the respective country to Bangladesh and the Ministry of Education/Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka, Bangladesh. Students of Bangladeshi origin studying in any institution in Bangladesh with foreign passports will not be considered for admission as foreign students. However, those who have dual citizenship can participate in the National Admission Test using their Bangladeshi passport. If a Bangladeshi citizen student wants to study MBBS or equivalent course outside the country after passing the HSC/’A’ Level/equivalent examination, he/she must mandatorily participate in the National Admission Test and obtain a minimum of 40 (forty) marks. Otherwise, he/she will not be considered for registration with BM&DC.
Special Note:In the case of quota, the rules and regulations of BM&DC’s ‘Student Admission Policy for MBBS and BDS Courses in Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges/Units-2025’ will be applicable. If the information provided by any candidate who appeared/passed/selected in the examination (which may be considered in determining the result) is found to be incomplete and incorrect, his/her examination/result/admission will be considered cancelled at any time.
