Chittagong District is an administrative region of Chittagong Division in the southeastern region of Bangladesh. Chittagong Cantonment is a cantonment located in Bayezid Bostami, Chittagong. And retired Lt. Colonel M. Sardar Khan (Army Education Corps) was appointed as the first principal of this institution Chittagong Cantonment Public College He had academic and administrative work experience. Finally the course started with 24 students and 3 teachers. This institution was re-established on March 17, 1972 at the initiative of the then Brigadier General Mir Shaukat Ali BU, PSC. Students, teachers, parents and all members of the governing body worked together to make it real. Later this institution came under the direct supervision of the Bangladesh Army to continue its gradual mobilization.

- Preference: Students seeking admission in Chittagong Cantonment Public College must keep this college as number 1 (one) in the preference list.

- Rules for applying for SQ quota: Children of serving, retired, martyred/dead in service and MES (Army) working in Chittagong and civilian officers and employees working in Chittagong in defense sector salaried army units can apply for SQ quota. The following documents to confirm/support correctness of quota can be submitted between 30th July 2025 (Wednesday) to 11th August 2025 (Monday) (excluding public holidays) from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Students applying for SQ Quota will be denied quota benefits if they fail to submit the following documents as mentioned in the application by the mentioned date:
- Copy of college preference application.
- Photocopy of online mark sheet and admit card of SSC pass with marks for each subject.
- Certificate of Head/Commander of Working Unit/Establishment.
- CORO Certificate with child details in case of retired army personnel/Record’s Certificate with child details/Attested copy of Pension Payment Order (PPO)/Certificate collected from District Armed Forces Board in case of children born after retirement.
- Subject to the minimum eligibility for admission as per section 3.2 of the circular published by the Education Board, sons and daughters of freedom fighters/martyred freedom fighters FQ and children of officers/employees working in the Ministry of Education or officers/employees working in departments/organizations under it will be considered in EQ quota.

- Regarding the admission and salary of the students admitted in the college, for Bengali version (Science department) admission Tk 5000/-, monthly salary Rs. Education Department) Admission Rs.6000/-, monthly salary to be paid at the rate of Rs.3280/-. Detailed information including overall salary and other expenses of the students will be provided at the time of final admission.
