Science Unit Application Eligibility
All departments and related institutes under the Faculty of Science, Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The details of the departments/institutes under this unit for which admission can be applied will be mentioned in the admission guidelines of the unit provided on the website. Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary in Science and Agricultural Sciences and Alim and IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level examinations in Science and Madrasa Education Board in Science branch and have a minimum GPA of 8.0 in Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations (including 4th subject) (minimum 3.5 in Secondary/equivalent and Higher Secondary/equivalent examinations separately) can apply for admission.
However, students of Humanities and Commerce branches of Higher Secondary and Madrasa Education Board can also apply for admission to this unit. Arts, Law and Social Sciences UnitApplication Eligibility
All departments and related institutes under the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social Sciences. The departments/institutes under which admission can be applied for under this unit will be mentioned in detail in the admission guidelines of the unit given on the website. Candidates who have passed the Alim and IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level examinations in the Humanities branch of the Higher Secondary Board and the General branch of the Madrasa Education Board and who have a minimum GPA of 7.5 in the sum of the two obtained in the Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations (including the 4th subject) (minimum 3.0 in the Secondary/equivalent and Higher Secondary/equivalent examinations separately) can apply for admission.
However, students of the Science and Commerce branches of the Higher Secondary and Madrasa Education Board can also apply for admission to this unit. In that case, the student’s cumulative GPA in the secondary and higher secondary or equivalent examinations (including the 4th subject) must be at least 8.0 for the science stream (minimum 3.5 separately) and at least 7.5 for the commerce stream (minimum 3.0 separately) (the information notified will be mentioned in the admission guidelines).
Business Education UnitApplication Eligibility
Management, Accounting, Marketing, Finance, Banking and Insurance, Management Information Systems, International Business, Tourism and Hospitality Management and Organization Strategy and Leadership Departments under the Faculty of Business Studies. Candidates who have passed the IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level examinations of the Higher Secondary Education Board and have a minimum GPA of 7.5 in the Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations (including the 4th subject) can apply for admission.
However, students of the Science and Humanities branches of the Higher Secondary and Madrasa Education Board can also apply for admission to this unit. Fine Arts UnitApplication Eligibility
Department of Drawing and Painting, Graphic Design, Printmaking, Oriental Art, Pottery, Sculpture, Crafts and History of Art under the Faculty of Fine Arts. The sum of the GPA in any branch of Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination (including the 4th subject) should be at least 6.5 (Minimum 3.0 in Secondary/equivalent and Higher Secondary/equivalent examinations separately). IBA UnitApplication Eligibility
For admission to Institute of Business Administration (IBA), minimum 3.5 in Secondary/equivalent and Higher Secondary/equivalent examinations separately and the sum of GPA obtained in these two examinations should be at least 8.0. (Detailed information will be mentioned in the admission guidelines)
For candidates who have passed IGCSE/O-Level and IAL/GCE A-Level
Students who have passed at least 5 subjects in IGCSE/O-Level (Mathematics is mandatory) and at least 2 subjects in IAL/GCE A-Level can apply for admission. However, at least 2 subjects out of 7 subjects in IGCSE/O-Level IAL/GCE A-Level should have A grade and a minimum grade point of 3.5 in IGCSE/O-Level and IAL/GCE A-Level respectively. The letter grade points obtained in the examination will be as follows: A=5.0, B=4.0, C-3.5, D=0.0
Applicable to all units (IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level)
- Students who have passed at least 5 subjects in the IGCSE/O Level examinations from 2020 to 2023 and at least 2 subjects in the IAL/GCE A Level examinations, the results of which were published after November 26, 2024, will be able to apply for admission. They must have at least B-grade in 4 subjects and at least C-grade in 3 subjects out of a total of 7 subjects in the IGCSE/O Level and IAL/GCE A Level.
- Candidates holding equivalent foreign certificates/diplomas will apply online for equivalence assessment. Candidates will be allowed to appear in the admission test only after the concerned unit head gives permission after equivalence assessment. All candidates will have to fulfill other conditions prescribed by the concerned unit.
Admission to quota
Tribal/minority ethnic groups, disabled (vision, speech, hearing, physical, neuro-developmental disorders, transgender), Harijan and Dalit communities, children of freedom fighters will have the opportunity to apply for admission under the quota. While applying online, the relevant quota will have to be ticked and only those who pass the admission test will be able to apply for the quota after the results of the admission test are published. If the candidate passes the admission test, the quota cell that he filled online must be collected from the Dean’s office of the concerned faculty or online within the time mentioned in the quota notification and must be filled in properly.
In the case of freedom fighter quota, a certificate issued by the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs, in the case of tribal quota, a certificate from the respective tribal/minor ethnic group district administration, in the case of Harijan and Dalit community quota, a certificate from the head of the Harijan and Dalit community organization, and in the case of candidates with disabilities (vision, speech, hearing, physical, neuro-developmental disorders, transgender), appropriate certificates must be submitted.
The distribution of seats in various quotas is as follows
- Children of freedom fighters will be admitted to 5% of the seats.
- 1% of seats will be reserved for tribal/ethnic minority candidates.
- Harijan and Dalit communities will be admitted in 1% of the seats.
- Disabled candidates will be admitted to 1% of the seats.
If the quota admission seats are not filled, the vacant seats will be filled from the merit. In addition, outside the prescribed number of seats, eligible candidates for sports facilities (only those who have passed higher secondary from BKSP) and pet facilities will have to provide the necessary information online. However, a case is ongoing in the court regarding this. Since the matter is pending, in light of this, their respective units will take effective action as per the instructions of the General Admission Committee.

What the applicant needs to do for the initial application for online admission
General Information (for all applications) Application for admission to any unithttps://admission.eis.du.ac.bdIt can be done from the website. For admission application, the student’s higher secondary and secondary information, current address and mobile number, parent’s national identity card number (optional), the divisional city center in which the student wishes to take the exam, quota and a scanned photograph will be required. The admission application fee can be deposited online immediately or in four state-owned banks (Sonali, Janata, Agrani and Rupali) within the specified time limit. The application fee is non-refundable.
